Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021

It's that time again, The 2021 General Assembly Session starts on Wednesday, January 13th. We’re armed with a bold roster of criminal justice reforms and we need the people to see to it we are effective at changing the laws. In past years we descended on the Capitol in Richmond together to line the halls of the legislature—this year’s Lobby Day has taken on a virtual twist, with advocates meeting virtually and on multiple days and designated timeframes.

It is critical for legislators to hear from constituents who care about changing our criminal justice system, so we’re asking advocates to join us January 8th, 11th, and the morning of the 12th. If you can be available one or more of those days to meet with legislators to discuss the need for our priority justice reforms, please register by Monday, January 4, 2021.

Volunteers who sign up for Lobby Days will be provided with details about the issues, the proposed legislation, why it's important to pass these bills this year, and how the proposed legislation will help address the problems in the current laws. We hope you can join us!

*Better prepare yourself for Lobby Days by attending our “Prep” Rally Live on Facebook, Thursday, January 7th at 6:30pm. We will prepare advocates in great detail to better assist in understanding the issues on the line. A recording will be archived in the videos section of our Facebook page in case you have to miss.
